    Description

The On Call Plus Blood Glucose Test Strips are premium, high-accuracy diagnostic tools engineered for precise quantitation of glucose levels in fresh capillary whole blood. Utilizing an advanced electrochemical / glucose oxidase biosensor method, these strips feature thin-film carbon electrodes paired with an auto-coding chip matrix to ensure supreme chemical calibration. Combined with fast-draw capillary technology, they rapidly pull the specimen into the reaction chamber, delivering laboratory-standard glycemic values from the comfort of home.

    Ingredients

Each test strip contains premium reactive chemicals:

    • Glucose Oxidase enzyme (Aspergillus niger)

    • Electron shuttle mediator

    • Non-reactive synthetic polymers and stabilization matrix

    Drug Class

In-Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device / Diabetes Management Supplies

    Dosage Form

Test Strips (Box of 50 pieces, packaged as 2 vials of 25 strips)

    Uses

It is used to test and monitor metabolic health indices including:

    • Daily self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes mellitus

    • Routine capillary blood sugar screening

    • Detection of acute glycemic variations (Hyperglycemia and Hypoglycemia)

    • Alternate Site Testing (AST) protocols using the palm or forearm

    • Clinical diagnostic tracking in home healthcare, nursing, and outpatient setups

    Dosage

To be used as per doctor's prescription or tracking mandates (typically 1 to 4 times daily depending on your glycemic stability plan).

    In case of Overdose

Not applicable to topical or diagnostic components. However, if extreme blood glucose readings (below 20 mg/dL or above 600 mg/dL) are observed repeatedly, consult a doctor or contact SMS Pharmacy support immediately to rule out medical emergencies or system misuse.

    Missed Dose

Perform your blood glucose tracking test as soon as you remember, especially if it relates to pre- or post-meal measurements. Do not use multiple strips simultaneously to correct a forgotten time slot.

    How To Use

To be used as per doctor's prescription and device instructions. Always observe proper testing hygiene:

    1. Thoroughly wash your hands with warm water and soap, then dry completely.

    2. Insert the specific code chip provided into your compatible On Call Plus/EZ meter.

    3. Remove a single strip from the vial and immediately recap the vial tightly. Insert the strip into the meter.

    4. Use a sterile lancing device to acquire a tiny 0.5 µL drop of fresh whole blood from the fingertip or alternate site.

    5. Touch the tip of the test strip to the blood drop until the reaction zone fills completely. Accurate results will display on-screen in 10 seconds.

    When Not to Use

Do not use in case of:

    • Incompatibility with non-On Call systems (these strips work explicitly with On Call Plus and On Call EZ II glucometers)

    • Samples derived from neonatal blood testing, unless clinically calibrated by a physician

    • Strips that have passed their explicit expiration date or have been exposed to open-air humidity for prolonged periods

    Side Effects

Side effects are rare and limited entirely to local tissue puncturing, including:

    • Minor localized tenderness or pain at the puncture site

    • Temporary bruising or skin calluses from frequent testing

    • Mild irritation or temporary redness

    Precautions & Warnings

For diagnostic in-vitro testing outside the body only. Keep the internal desiccant cap sealed tight at all times; exposure to atmospheric ambient air will degrade the underlying glucose oxidase enzyme and trigger faulty lower readings. Ensure your hematocrit level stays within the validated 30-55% range for accurate data output. Do not reuse a strip once blood has interacted with the chemical window.

    Drug Interactions

Do not use or consult your doctor if:

    • High concentrations of reducing substances such as Acetaminophen, Salicylates, Uric Acid, or Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) are present in the blood, as they can cause mild electrochemical interference and artificially shift reading results.

    Food Interactions

The food interactions that should be considered while using On Call Plus Strips are:

    • Food choices do not affect the physical performance of the strips. However, ensure your fingertips are completely clean of food residues (like fruit sugar or juice film) before testing, as surface contaminants will artificially spike your blood sugar readouts.

    Storage/Disposal

Store the strips strictly within their original protective dual-vials between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from extreme heat, damp moisture, and direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Safely dispose of used lancets and test strips inside dedicated biohazard containers. Keep out of reach of children.

    Control Drug

    No

    Quick Tips, if any

    • Never transfer the test strips into a different or non-original container; the vial walls contain special moisture-absorbing agents that protect strip chemical longevity.

    • Record the exact opening date on the vial label; discard any remaining strips 3 months after opening the container to safeguard diagnostic accuracy.
