    Description

The FreeStyle Lite Blood Glucose Test Strips are highly advanced, premium diagnostic tools engineered for the rapid quantitative measurement of glucose in fresh capillary whole blood. Utilizing an exclusive coulometry electrochemical measurement technique, these strips are completely unaffected by reaction rate variations. They feature innovative ZipWik tabs that instantly break the blood surface tension to wick up the specimen. Backed by No-Coding technology, they eliminate manual calibration errors, offering laboratory-standard accuracy to optimize daily diabetes management.

    Ingredients

Each test strip is treated with premium reactive chemistry:

    • FAD Glucose Dehydrogenase enzyme (Aspergillus oryzae): $\ge 1.0 \text{ Unit}$

    • Osmium-based mediator compound: $\ge 0.01 \text{ mg}$

    • Non-reactive buffers, polymers, and stabilization agents

    Drug Class

In-Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device / Diabetes Management Supplies

    Dosage Form

Test Strips (Box of 100 pieces)

    Uses

It is used to test, screen, and monitor metabolic glucose indices including:

    • Daily self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes mellitus

    • Alternate Site Testing (AST) protocols including the palm, forearm, upper arm, thigh, and calf

    • Immediate quantitative assessment of glycemic extremes (Hyperglycemia and Hypoglycemia)

    • Clinical tracking of insulin dose adjustments and dietary impact metrics

    Dosage

To be used as per doctor's prescription or individualized glycemic monitoring schedule.

    In case of Overdose

Not applicable to quantitative diagnostic equipment. However, if extreme glycemic readouts appear unexpectedly (e.g., repeatedly outside the standard 20–600 mg/dL spectrum), consult a doctor or contact SMS Pharmacy support immediately to verify patient safety.

    Missed Dose

Perform your blood sugar measurement as soon as you remember. Ensure you align tests closely with target testing windows (such as pre-meal or 2 hours post-meal) as outlined by your health specialist. Do not use multiple strips simultaneously.

    How To Use

To be used as per doctor's prescription and compatible meter instructions. Always observe proper testing hygiene:

    1. Wash your hands thoroughly with warm, soapy water and dry them completely.

    2. Insert a new FreeStyle Lite strip into a compatible meter (such as FreeStyle Lite or FreeStyle Freedom Lite). The meter will turn on automatically.

    3. Use a sterile lancing device to extract a minuscule 0.3 µL drop of blood from the fingertip or an approved alternate site.

    4. Touch the ZipWik tab on the side of the test strip to the blood drop. The strip will rapidly pull the specimen in.

    5. If the strip does not fill completely, you have up to 60 seconds to reapply more blood to the same area. A precise result will display on-screen within 5 seconds.

    When Not to Use

Do not use in case of:

    • Incompatibility with non-approved monitoring systems (explicitly designed for FreeStyle Lite, FreeStyle Freedom Lite, and FreeStyle InsuLinx systems only)

    • Testing utilizing samples from neonatal blood screening, unless calibrated explicitly under specialist orders

    • Strips where the package seal is broken or the expiration date printed on the vial has passed

    Side Effects

Side effects are rare and confined entirely to the localized puncture site, including:

    • Minor localized tenderness or structural skin soreness at the puncture zone

    • Temporary bruising or minor skin calluses from frequent lancing

    • Mild surface irritation or temporary redness

    Precautions & Warnings

For diagnostic in-vitro testing outside the body only. Do not reuse test strips; they are strictly designed for single-use application. To protect the integrity of the active FAD-GDH enzymes, keep the vial cap tightly closed immediately after extracting a strip. Ensure your hematocrit levels are within the validated 15% to 65% operational spectrum to safeguard data accuracy.

    Drug Interactions

Do not use or consult your doctor if:

    • The system utilizes a low potential for mediator oxidation to minimize interference. However, exceptionally high systemic levels of electrochemically active reducing substances (such as toxic concentrations of Acetaminophen, Ascorbic acid, or Uric acid) should be monitored, as they may slightly skew data output.

    Food Interactions

The food interactions that should be considered while using FreeStyle Lite Strips are:

    • Food intake does not interfere with the biochemical mechanisms of the strip. However, ensure testing fingers are completely free from food oils or fruit sugars prior to lancing, as surface contaminants will falsely elevate glucose readouts.

    Storage/Disposal

Store exclusively within the original protective desiccant vial at a regulated room temperature between 4°C and 30°C. Protect from high humidity, freezing conditions, and direct sunlight. Safely discard used lancets and bio-interactive test strips inside dedicated sharps bins. Keep out of reach of children.

    Control Drug

    No

    Quick Tips, if any

    • Never transfer strips to a generic container; the original vial walls contain specialized drying agents essential for chemical shelf-life.

    • Take advantage of the ultra-small 0.3 µL sample demand—the world's smallest volume requirement—allowing you to use shallower lancing depths for a completely pain-free testing routine.
